IN THE NAME OF ALLAH "   "

THE CHIVALROUS * *

The period before Islam is called " the ignorance " . In the ignorance period , there were bad habits and traditions . People were accustomed to do many wrong deeds and believed in wrong things . The holy prophet Mohammad ( peace be upon him ) guided people to do good according to "Holy Quran " . Very wrong habits died out and instead , right ways took their place .

One day a merchant from " BaniZobeyd "* tribe came to Mecca . The merchant presented his properties to the people of Mecca for selling ." A"s "* – " Vael "s*  son " from " BaniSahm "* tribe – bought some things from the merchant and the merchant delivered them. He agreed to pay his money alittle later .

The merchant waited for a long time but " A"s " and his money didn"t came The man of " Zobeyd " * told the matter to the people of Mecca in desperation . He asked them to help him to get back his right …but nobody helped him .

The merchant felt he was in a very bad situation . On those days , Mecca had neither police nor court . Each tribe himself attended the conflictions between his members.

Every A"rab knew well that if somebody killed any oneelse , the killed person"s tribe would revenge him on all the members of murderer"s tribe . It means that if any one of a tribe made a mistake , the rest had to bear the difficulties,too.

Now the oppressed merchant didn"t have any alternatives but to return todesert - where he lived - .He wanted to bring his tribe to fight the oppressor man"s tribe . The merchant was torn ,if his tribe came from desert ,they would be thought a foreign enemy . Willy – nilly all tribes of Mecca would fight them and they would be killed .

The merchant didn"t have any alternatives .He was oppressed but he couldn"t get back his right . Each time he thought that how A"shad cheated him ,he got so angry.

On day morning , the angry merchant thought a new idea. When "Ghoraysh "* were gathering around " TheKa"abah "* he stood on top of "Abo ghobays "* mountain , shouted out and wanted his right :

_ Oh , People ! … Help this oppressed stranger . In Mecca my assets is gone by oppression .

" Ghoraysh " were ashamed of hearing these words . Mohammad (peace be upon him ) who was a handsome young man , was there . His blue blood-vessel that was in middle of his forehead and between his eyebrows bulged .

Mohammad ( peace be upon him ) always becameangry and sad against oppression to the weak ,however ,he calmed down his anger .

Sooner after Mohammad ( peace be upon him ) and other chivalrous took action . They swore that they would help the oppressed and would be the enemy of the oppressor .

All were determined and confirm . They wanted to organize an army of volunteers to defend the right of the oppressed . They wrote a treaty very soon as below   :

1. We protect and support every oppressed whether from Mecca or out of Mecca .We will continue it until the oppressed get back his right .

2 . We will get the oppressed"s right from oppressor with any possible way and policy .

3 . In this way , we will not get any wages or rewards whether that oppressed were rich or poor .

Then the group of chivalrous moved toward A"s –Vael"s son -  .A"s couldn"t resist against this truth-seeking force and in desperation surrendered and delivered the merchant"s properties .

The merchant became happy and the chivalrous also returned to their homes. The young also abode by  theirpromise and always  defended the oppressed"s right . Mohammad ( peace be upon him ) even after he became the prophet ,mentioned that as a good treaty .He said , I participated in a treaty in  that period  that if I was invited to it in Islam time I would accept ,too .





* Banizobayd = the name of a tribe

*Banisahm = the name of a tribe

*Ghoraysh = the name of big tribe in Mecca

* Ka"abah = the name of muslem"s mosque in Mecca

*Abo ghobays = the name of a mountain near Mecca
